Our History

Celebrating 64 years in Business

Calvin Bassham, the founder of Bassham Foods, started the company in the late forties. With only a flatbed truck, Calvin traveled from country farm to country farm picking up fresh eggs and live poultry. In 1953, located on Hemphill Street in a small building behind a seamstress' operation. Bassham was a thriving business with the grading and packaging of eggs. Serving Vandervoort Dairies, Oak Farms Dairies and Sammy's Pride retail stores. Our growth took us to another facility of 4,000 sq. ft. thereby stepping into the foodservice industry in 1966. Ronnie Bassham, son of Calvin, expanded the business further by selling eggs to the International House of Pancakes. As customers demanded additional items including cheese, butter, ham, and shortening, our product line expanded. So, in 1976 a new 10,000 sq. ft. building was needed to service our growing business. In 1983, with another relocation to a 25,000-sq. ft. building, we were on the move again. Now our current facility is over 75,000 sq. ft. and houses upward of 7,000 items, a Cash and Carry and an equipment showroom. At Bassham Foods commitment to our customers means providing uncompromising service, top quality products and competitive pricing. Our customers know that the Bassham Foods team will do whatever it takes to not only fulfill but also exceed their expectations.
